Edilizia Scarpenti is a family-run construction company in parma specialized in building and renovating country houses and villas.
Francesco, the company owner, will be happy to talk about your project, to give advice and to help you get the most out of the renovation of your house, maintaining the tradition of the old stone houses that were once part of the farmers lives. Appreciating the beauty of classic and conforming it to present is our aim. Talking with Francesco can help you step by step, stone after stone to re-experience the country house with its the wooden beams exposed and all the details that will make your home so warm and cosy.

Francesco at work…
My dad Francesco, who returned from London in the ‘90s, where he had moved to look for a job, started off on his own, with a trowel, some equipment and the cement mixer to mix the cement for building stone houses and walls. Soon, he took on some employees, the company grew and today his sons Giuliano and Max, to whom he transmits his passion and dedication, are part of the company. Sometimes it’s hard work but their satisfaction after a long working day on the building site, is priceless.
The stone
Francesco loads the stones for building, recycled from old or country houses, onto his truck. Dad chooses them one by one, he evaluates them, turns them and chooses the “best” side (he has a good eye for this) to expose and starts to place them one at a time. Then he interlaces them like when you stack wood. The results are beautiful stone houses and buildings.
Everyone has a duty
Francesco erects stone walls and houses, every day on the building site, and he still manages the work. He has taught his laborers and sons everything he knows. His passion and love for this job haven’t changed and he has passed on the techniques learnt in all these years. Today everyone tries hard at work. Max mixes cement and drives the truck, Giuliano started plastering and the laborers have reached Francesco’s level of expertise and are completely self-sufficient. This is what makes our company a really traditional artisan company with innovative ideas. We work for you as if it was our own home.
